The Center for Women’s Intercultural Leadership of Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame wanted to move from their old Dreamweaver site to an easier to maintain content management system that would both save administration time, add new features, and update their look and feel.
They needed a secure system for users to add faculty research abstracts, along with the ability to create their own tags and maintain author profile pages. They also needed an email newsletter, and the ability to add new newsletters as well as manage subscriptions, along with blog space, a calendar, photo galleries, and normal multimedia functionality.
Using the Drupal content management system, Dirt Circle helped migrate all the old content, retool their look and feel, as well as add a user-friendly interface to the new functionality.

Mennonite Weekly Review needed a site redesign and a Content Management System that would let them update their constantly-changing news site with a minimum of staff time. Working off their initial design and layout, we built a clean, simple visual look that allows users to find the information they’re looking for easily and quickly. Using the Django web framework, we gave them a web-based admin interface to upload and tag their articles, photos, and one-off pages.
“In addition to being highly skilled with Web production, Carl has the kind
of attention to style and copy preferences that is essential for
publishing newspapers and magazines in any medium. Carl and Eric
interacted with me as colleagues, rather than merely as a client. I
learned a great deal through the process, as well as having the needs of
my publication and our audience met in the Web site.” — Celeste
Kennel-Shank, Mennonite Weekly Review assistant editor
